Our Favourite Ways To Eat Mousse

A chocolate mousse is a beautiful thing but of course there are so many different ways of eating one. Below are some of our favourites – let us know which is yours and let us know if there’s one we missed…

Mousse-uccino

A simple but divine combination, especially for all those coffee lovers out there! For this you will need a mousse and a coffee – we like a regular latte, but any coffee (from instant to almond cappuccino) will do. Take the mousse and coffee – combine – drink. It’s like a mocha, but creamier. It’s delicious, trust us!

Mousse-dipping-good

We all know that dipping fries into a vanilla thick shake is as old as time immemorial, but there’s nothing better than after a pizza party to dip your pizza crusts in a light, fluffy mousse! Did you know that dipping fried chicken into mousse was also thing? Fried chicken goodness + smooth mousse deliciousness = unexpected taste explosions!

Mousse tart

Save the culinary expertise for the experts (or at least, half the baking) and use mousse as a filling with for a delicious mousse tart. For this one you’ll need to bake a tart base (we love to do it with a cocoa-flavoured base – did someone say double chocolate?!?!) and then simply empty a mouse (or two) into the cooked and cooled tart base and spread evenly before serving. If you don’t know where to start with the tart base, we found a great one online!

Mousse sandwiches

Mousse makes a great tart filling but how about a sweet little sandwich? You could do it with fluffy slices of white bread, pancakes or even just crackers. Get a couple of pieces, slather on some delicious chocolate mousse, sandwich together and enjoy!

Mousse and sweet granola

Combine a classic chocolate mousse with dried raspberries and an assortment of nuts or home-made granola and coconut shavings for a combo you won’t forget! You’ll thank us later (and you might even feel just a little bit healthier too… maybe).

Mousse additions

Don’t be afraid to experiment with incorporating different flavours into your mousse, especially if you’re hosting and want to bring the wow factor into your desserts! Matcha powder is becoming an increasingly popular flavour as is mango puree mousse. The beauty of mousse is that it is so adaptable!

The Classic

Can you go past grabbing a spoon and eating a mousse straight from a tub? We don’t think so!
