We’re a family of dessert lovers, from our Managing Director, David Rose, who has owned and grown with Exquisine since 1986, to the third generation of Rose’s, who are avid taste-testers of all things chocolatey or sweet. All members from the youngest to oldest have helped along the way from being head label stickers to taste test lickers.
Our purpose-built, company-owned premises are located in Thornbury, Victoria; just 8km north of Melbourne’s CBD. With over 4,000sqm our manufacturing facility reflects our Green Commitment and has been specifically designed for flexibility, allowing us to work closely with our customers to meet their volume and scheduling requirements.
Our talented engineering team have built our very own Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) which delivers real-time feedback on our production. This technology, combined with Lean Manufacturing methodology, has driven further improvements to our efficiencies and excellency. No part of our business has escaped scrutiny, from goods receival to production, packing and dispatch. We have instigated Lean projects in all areas to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum downtime and wastage at great benefit to us and our customers.
We are constantly creating not only new desserts but also new ways of making them happen in our production facility. We are not afraid of change and will always strive to be better than yesterday. This means we are always working on a project or two, whether that be a new technology to enhance and improve our processes or a piece of equipment to do something new, or better, in production. We pride ourselves on our proactive approach to innovation and improvement.
We believe we are really in the 'sweet spot' when it comes to our facility and our ability to scale up or down, depending on our customers needs. We are highly adaptable and capable of delivering a wide variety of products, fill sizes, packaging options and nutritional benefits. Our customers range from well-known household brands to small private retail labels and we deliver a unique and targeted product for each and every one.
At Exquisine we owe our success to our fantastic staff, our most valued asset. We proudly employ over 45 staff members who identify with a diverse range of cultures and traditions. Collectively we can speak 12 languages and hail from across four continents. We embrace all people and we are proud to have such a wonderfully diverse staff.
We know the importance of adhering to high safety and quality standards in the food industry. This is why we have a team dedicated to managing all our processes. They are meticulous in ensuring we always meet the highest standards. Our desserts and equipment are tested regularly at a NATA approved facility.
We also welcome independent supplier audits to meet food and safety standards in various international markets. We consistently receive the highest results for food safety and are proud to hold the following food safety licenses and certificates:
The dessert business is not as sweet as it seems. It’s a highly competitive environment where every spoonful matters. So, to be highly awarded in this field is a great honour. We’ve always known our recipes are special, it’s taken us years to perfect them but it’s nice to be acknowledged at prestigious dairy shows.
